Great value By Miguel Gil I travel a lot, my other samsonite the wheel gave up after 4 years of Gold Membership in AA, this one looks a lot better, is lighter and easier to handle. You'll Be Sorry if You Intend to Use This Bag as a Carry On By B. Reeves I bought this bag (and the respective 26 inch version) last fall because I wanted to use it as a carry on bag on my frequent trips between Washington, DC and Luxembourg. I have been met with nothing but constant aggravation with this bag because the airlines often challenge it as too large to be carried onto the airplane. Getting through security and fitting in the overhead bins is not the problem. The problem is getting the luggage past the check-in counter. I suppose that if you travel on mostly domestic flights where you can get your boarding pass without seeing a check-in agent, then this bag might be for you. But if you ever have to try to fit the bag in the stupid metal frame that they tell people their bag must fit inside to be carried on, you will not be able to. My story... I was stopped at the check-in counter at least 4 times in the last 6 trips with this bag and challenged about carrying it on. In most cases with a little bit of persuasion (and occasionally a little bit of arguing), I had been allowed to proceed after checking in at the counter. But last night, I was unsuccessful and had to pay $200 for excess baggage. Not to mention putting the valuables and fragile items in the bag at the risk of luggage handlers. Putting aside the debate about whether or not this bag is a carry-on, it's a good bag. Decent storage space. Nice handle and roller system. But marketing this bag as a carry-on is false advertising and Samsonite should stop doing it (and stop their merchants from doing it). 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Quality Carry On By Dominic L. This product is great for the business travel I've had to do. It holds a suite, some dress shirts and all the rest of the stuff you need and all in a carry on size. The product is good quality and feels like it is going to hold up well. The only negative I can say is that it is the largest size carry on bag so some planes this bag doesn't fit in overhead and you'll still have to check it.
